A Jordanian source is quoted today as saying that Jordan has begun "real" talks with two Arab countries to check the possibility of importing natural gas from them instead of gas from Israel.
The use of the word "real" means that in Jordan there is a serious fear that Israel will stop the supply of natural gas to the kingdom due to the circumstances related to the war in the Gaza Strip and the attitudes expressed by Jordan towards Israel.
It should be noted that any other deal signed by Jordan will be economically bad since Israel sells gas to Jordan at half the price on the world market. In this way Jordan saves 500 million dollars every year and for a country with few resources like it this is a significant amount.
Although this was not written in the news, in my estimation the two countries with which Jordan maintains contacts are Qatar and Algeria.
