On a March 11, 2023 show on Palestine Today TV (Palestinian Islamic Jihad), Gaza Islamic scholar Mustafa Qeshawi described the divine rewards that martyrs receive according to Islamic tradition.
He explained that martyrs have all of their sins forgiven the moment the first drop of their blood is shed, are spared the torments of grave, can admit 70 of their family members to Paradise, receive 72 black-eyed virgins, receive a crown of glory in which each jewel is worth more than the entire world, ascend to Paradise as green birds who nest in chandeliers hung from Allah's throne.
He emphasized that martyrdom is a badge of honor, and he said that everybody in Palestine is either a martyr or "designated" to become a martyr, adding: "We all dwell in the world of martyrdom."
Mustafa Qeshawi: "There are people who were chosen for martyrdom, and they are just waiting to carry out [the attacks]. Especially in Palestine, we are either martyrs or designated martyrs. We all dwell in the world of martyrdom.
