A report in The Atlantic reveals that President Trump’s administration has been examining the possibility that Venezuela’s ruler, Nicolás Maduro, could voluntarily go into exile.
According to the report, potential destinations being discussed include Russia, Turkey, or Cuba — countries that have maintained close ties with the Maduro regime.
Maduro is reportedly demanding several guarantees in exchange for stepping down: a full pardon, cancellation of the US reward placed on his head, and safe passage to a secure exile location.
These conditions highlight how deeply entangled he remains in corruption, repression, and criminal activity — all of which the Trump administration has long sought to dismantle.
