Summary of the computing event from the last few hours causing crashes around the globe.
A worldwide computer outage has been occurring since this morning following a faulty update that was distributed for Crowdstrike's security system.
The company Crowdstrike, which provides protection services for computers and servers in thousands of organizations around the world, reported that it is aware of the malfunction and that the issue is being addressed.
At this stage, the assessment is that this is a malfunction and not a deliberate cyber incident.
Besides Israel Post and MDA, other organizations report extensive disruptions in activity - banks (National, Mizrahi, etc.), hospitals, retail chains and other businesses.
The event is not only happening in Israel, as widespread disruptions are also felt around the world, for example the live broadcasts of Skynews were shut down, flights were postponed and many companies report shutting down services.
The stock of Crowdstrike, which is traded on Nasdaq, reacts with a decrease of several percent. The company published a temporary solution to the problem that requires manual work in all affected positions, but at this stage there is no prospect of a complete solution.
