The Israeli gas supply to Jordan from the Leviathan field was renewed on Friday after a 33-day interruption, according to sources in Jordan - a development that may alleviate supply concerns that have increased in the Jordanian energy market since the outbreak of the war in Iran.
A senior official at Jordan's national electric company told the Arab media that the flow of Israeli gas to the kingdom has resumed and the expectation is that the quantities being supplied will return to normal levels within days.
The official explained that the quantities of Israeli gas supplied are not fixed but depend on Jordan's daily needs, "considering the flexibility of the existing contracts with the Israeli side."
It should be noted that alternatives to Israeli gas have created a burden of about 4 million dollars on average per day on Jordan's depleted treasury over the past month.
