Egypt refuses US demand to close their skies to Russia

The Wall Street Journal: Egypt has ignored US requests to close its airspace to Russian military flights in order to "try and choke" Moscow's supplies ahead of an expected counterattack against Ukraine.

Let's explain: In order to transfer equipment from the bases in Syria to the war in Ukraine - the Russian planes must pass through Egyptian airspace. And so we will reach the American request which, if granted, would force the Russians to make a major detour.

Looking at the map, they can just head east from Syria towards Russia. They don’t have to pass Egypt, which is south then have to go north.???
