Mohamed Adan Mohamed, 24, was arrested on April 17 after he stole over $2,000 worth of ammunition magazines, body armor, and bear spray from a sporting goods store in Mankato. According to Blue Earth County charging documents, Mohamed fled the scene, nearly running over a bystander in a getaway minivan without license plates.

Police later discovered a "survival gear list" Mohamed had dropped, filled with tactical supplies, and linked him to disturbing social media posts glorifying violence against America and Israel. One video featured hashtags like “#deathtoamerikkan&israelliImperialism.”

Authorities quickly connected Mohamed to a recent investigation into online threats and determined he was preparing to launch a mass attack within the next 24 hours. Thanks to swift action, what could have been a devastating tragedy was prevented.

“How many times will we be this lucky?” one officer remarked.
