"Iran can produce a nuclear bomb - but has not yet decided whether to do so"
Kamal Kharazi, Iran's former foreign minister, also said that his country would not negotiate its nuclear program and its regional policy, adding that Tehran would respond directly to Israel if it harmed it.
A senior adviser to Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, said Tehran was "technically" capable of producing a nuclear bomb. In an interview with Al Jazeera in Arabic, Kamal Kharazi, Iran's former foreign minister, said his country would not negotiate its nuclear program and regional policy, adding that Tehran would respond directly to Israel if it harmed it.
"In a few days we were able to enrich uranium to 60% and we could easily produce 90% enriched uranium ... Iran has the technical capabilities to produce a nuclear bomb but no decision has been made whether to build such a bomb," Kharazi said.
