For quite some time now, the West has very much wanted to get its hands on Russia's new battle tank, the T-80BVM, which in their estimation was supposed to be a "game changer" in the event of armored battles between NATO and the Red Army.

That's when the intelligence effort began to find such a tank that could be taken over and brought to the land of Ukraine and from there on a short journey to the laboratories of the Western world to examine this weapon system.

Indeed, the means of gathering intelligence of the West located such a tank in the Kursk region, where the Ukrainian invasion of Russian lands began.
