King Abdullah II will leave Jordan tomorrow, Sunday, for Germany to undergo surgery to treat a herniated disc in the spine, according to the official news agency Petra.
The agency said, "Following the advice of Jordanian doctors updated on His Majesty's condition, the surgery will be performed this week at a special hospital in Frankfurt, Germany."
King Abdullah II suffered from intermittent spinal pain as a result of paralysis during his years of service and also underwent several special surgeries. However, the pressure on the nerve due to a herniated disc has increased recently, "which increased the pain and required urgent surgery on the advice of doctors," the agency said.
After the planned surgery he is supposed to spend his recovery and rest period in Germany, which will last about a week, before the king returns to his country.
Now all that remains is to see if a "herniated disc" is really behind the urgent medical incident that forced him to go on an emergency trip to Germany?
