THE NORDIC MONITOR -- A Turkish government-linked intelligence report is calling for Ankara to prepare for a new regional security reality after the US-Israel-Iran war, while also recommending that Turkey keep communication channels open with Israel.
The report, prepared by Turkey’s National Intelligence Academy and published on May 20, says the 40-day war that began on February 28 changed the strategic balance in the Middle East.
According to the report, future wars will not be decided only by tanks, aircraft and missiles, but also by production capacity, cyber systems, artificial intelligence, infrastructure protection and the ability of states to keep functioning under heavy pressure.
The report urges Turkey to expand its air and missile defenses, protect energy and communications infrastructure, strengthen the security of senior officials and improve national readiness for crisis conditions. It also warns that modern warfare increasingly targets decision-makers, military commanders, technical experts and critical state systems.
