Minister of Agriculture and Food Security and Cabinet member Avi Dichter, former head of the Shin Bet, presented a stark regional picture at the Jerusalem Center for Foreign and Security Affairs (JCFA) conference in Tel Aviv.
"The war is not over; it is a ceasefire to prepare for the next stage. If necessary — the truce will disappear in minutes."
According to him, there is no chance that Hamas will voluntarily disarm: "The possibility of Hamas laying down its weapons is similar to the possibility of Israel winning the World Cup. Without its weapons — there is no Hamas."
Dichter warned that Hamas is "learning from Hezbollah in Lebanon" and is trying to stall on the issue of returning the bodies of the kidnapped: "The war will not end until all seven kidnapped are returned — we will not tolerate games."
