Israel’s Health Ministry warned the public against bathing on the beaches of Tel Aviv, Herzliya and Bat Yam on Tuesday.

Following rainfall in the last day in the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, runoff water mixed with sewage was pumped into the collection and drainage systems at the Reading Power Station, the Yarkon River estuary, the Ayalon River and other beach drains in nearby local authorities, the ministry said.

The warning remains in effect until the rain ends and sea water test results return to normal.
