Elon Musk’s warning about George Soros is gaining attention after new campaign finance data showed Soros as the top individual Democratic donor so far in the 2026 midterm cycle.
According to the report, Soros-linked vehicles have given $102 million in large political donations in the first six months of the cycle, placing the billionaire investor and left-wing megadonor at the center of the Democratic Party’s midterm money machine.
Musk warned that Soros is one of the most powerful donors behind the Democratic Party, accusing him of backing political movements that “erode the fabric of civilization.” Critics of Soros argue that his vast spending has helped reshape America’s justice system, elections, activism, and left-wing political infrastructure over the past decade.
Soros’ spending has been massive across multiple cycles: tens of millions in 2018 and 2020, far larger reported totals in 2022, major spending in 2024, and now $102 million already reported for the 2026 cycle.
