Why is the biggest wheel in the world (in Dubai) closed down?

This was supposed to be one of the biggest tourist attractions in the region - the biggest Ferris wheel in the world, in Dubai.

But it has been closed for over a year. The wheel called "Dubai Eye" is twice as tall as the wheel in London (London Eye) and was built on an artificial island that includes luxury apartments, restaurants, shopping malls and more.

There is no official explanation as to why this wheel is disabled and enabled for only five months. According to estimates, about 300 million dollars were invested in the project, which apparently went down the drain. According to some reports, the stoppage of activity at Ain Dubai is for maintenance purposes.

However, other sources claim that it is much more than that. According to the same sources, there were cracks in the project that made it dangerous to use. There is also a claim that the giant wheel is causing the sinking of the island on which it was built and now the options are being considered, what to do...

It should be noted that each rotation of the wheel takes about 38 minutes, and it includes a total of 48 standard and luxury cabins, each of which can accommodate up to 40 people. Thus the total capacity of the wheel is 1,750 people at the same time.

The prices of boarding tickets for the wheel ranged from $27 to $1,280.
