Family of UK couple detained in Iran may seek Trump's help

IRAN INTERNATIONAL — The family of Lindsay and Craig Foreman, a British couple jailed in Iran on espionage charges, says it may ask US President Donald Trump for help.

The pair, arrested in January during a motorcycle trip, have been held for nine months. Mrs. Foreman was recently moved from Qarchak women’s prison — notorious for its harsh conditions — to Evin prison in Tehran.

Her son, Joe Bennett, said Trump’s remarks to Israel’s parliament about extending “a hand of friendship” to Iran gave the family new hope. The Foremans’ relatives plan to meet UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper this week, hoping diplomatic efforts can secure their release.
