The IDF recently attacked a terrorist from the Hezbollah terrorist organization in the Yanuah area in southern Lebanon.
IDF: In an attack in southern Lebanon: IDF eliminates Hezbollah terror organization's artillery chief in the Yanuh area. Earlier today, the IDF struck in the Yanuh area and eliminated the terrorist Ahmed Ali Salami, who served as the artillery chief for the Hezbollah terror organization.
Throughout the war, the terrorist advanced numerous firing layouts targeting IDF forces and the State of Israel, and in recent times, the terrorist operated to rehabilitate the terror organization's artillery array from within the Lebanese civilian population.
It is known that a number of uninvolved individuals were killed in the strike. Prior to the strike, steps were taken to reduce the risk of harm to civilians, including the use of precision munitions and aerial observations.
The IDF regrets any harm to uninvolved individuals and operates as much as possible to minimize harm to them.
The incident is under investigation. The terrorist's actions constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon.
The IDF will continue to operate in order to remove any threat to the State of Israel.
