Researcher Irina Zuckerman published findings according to which the "espionage" affair of the Israeli cyber company was the result of an initiative by parties who want Israel's harm, including Qatar. Shortly after, Twitter closed her account, and according to her, "my silencing is a political move"
Other researchers around the world join her position and there are those in Jerusalem who fear that the Americans were also involved in the affair: "In the NSO story, the Americans shot a bullet between our eyes."
Irina Zuckerman's story is a contemporary version of "The Emporer's New Clothes". She is an independent researcher, her name is known in relatively limited circles, she makes connections and especially without an organization standing behind her. But her findings contradict the claims of intelligence organizations, cyber companies, the human rights industry and left-wing media.
"The Emporer is naked. The Israeli company NSO did not do what is attributed to it," she says, "a sophisticated international campaign spreads these claims for political reasons."
Not many were exposed to Zuckerman's research, yet the social network Twitter blocked her account a few days before our meeting at the end of July. Apparently someone is very concerned about what she has to say.
"There is a growing concern that the systematic allegations of surveillance (via NSO) and the many articles under fictitious names, by pro-Islamic and anti-Israel thinkers, may be a long-term and well-planned disinformation campaign, illustrating the infrastructure and broad scope of Qatar's information warfare." , Zuckerman wrote in the concluding phase of the article.
