Israeli breakthrough: 1st human trial of engineered spinal cord

Israeli scientists have begun the world’s first human trial of lab-grown spinal cord tissue, created from patients’ own cells, aiming to restore mobility and help paralyzed individuals walk again.

What if paralysis didn’t have to be permanent? After engineering a human spinal cord and successfully testing it on animals, the research team is now preparing for the first human trials.
