A Mississippi student accused of hurling antisemitic slurs and throwing coins at Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is receiving thousands of dollars in online donations for his legal expenses.

By Tuesday, a GiveSendGo campaign had collected nearly $29,000 from more than 900 contributors on behalf of Patrick McClintock, who was arrested by Starkville police for disturbing the peace after confronting Portnoy during a downtown video shoot.

The online fundraiser framed McClintock’s case as a battle over free expression and used language steeped in antisemitic conspiracy theories.
