Two Israeli men have been arrested for allegedly conducting intelligence-gathering operations for Iranian operatives in the community where Defense Minister Israel Katz lives, Israeli authorities said
Roy Mizrahi and Almog Atias, both 24 and residents of Nesher, were detained at the end of April as part of a joint investigation by the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) and the Israel Police. The suspects are accused of committing serious national security offenses in Moshav Kfar Ahim, where the defense minister resides.
The Shin Bet said that Mizrahi maintained contact throughout 2025 with Iranian terrorist elements and carried out numerous missions for them. Some of the operations were conducted with Atias. The two allegedly understood that they were acting on behalf of Iranian intelligence and that their actions were aimed at harming Israeli national security.
According to investigators, Mizrahi purchased a new mobile phone and installed a special application to communicate securely with his Iranian handlers. In one case, he was directed to transfer a buried file from one location to another. “He understood the file contained an explosive device,” the Shin Bet said, adding that Mizrahi followed the instructions and completed the transfer.
