A large NATO aerial maneuver these days in the air field sent Romania, not far from the border of Ukraine, with the participation of fighter jets from France, Italy, Romania, Spain, Turkey and the USA. The main topic of the exercise: air maneuver against the enemy's GNA formations.

The NATO Air Force Command stated that two groups of fighter jets are participating: Romania's F-16 and the USA's F-15 versus Italy's Eurofighter, Spain's F-18 and Turkey's F-16.

The NATO statement said that the two groups of aircraft are practicing air-to-air combat, air-to-ground attacks. The planes will be refueled by a Turkish refueling plane to increase the operational range of the planes.

The management of the exercise was entrusted to the Air Operations Center in Turhon, Spain and to the control center of the Romanian Air Force. General Christoph Fleet, Deputy Commander of NATO's Air Forces, told the UK DEFENSE JOURNAL that the exercise is part of the alliance's readiness system, and is designed to secure and protect NATO's eastern flank and operate operationally in threat-saturated environments.
