Alice Teodorescu Måwe, one of Israel’s strongest allies in Europe, faces daily threats, insults, and even physical assaults. In an exclusive interview with C14, she explains why she demanded the EU stop funding UNRWA, warns of the Iranian threat, and reveals why she chose to visit Auschwitz now.
At 41, Teodorescu Måwe is a striking figure in the European Parliament. A leading voice against antisemitism and radical Islam, she is also one of the Jewish state’s most outspoken defenders on the continent. Born in Bucharest and educated in Sweden, she built her career in media and research before being elected in 2024 for the Christian Democrats — part of Sweden’s ruling coalition. Her party’s deputy prime minister, Ebba Busch, has even called for moving Sweden’s embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.
Since entering parliament, Teodorescu Måwe has led a relentless campaign: against UNRWA, in support of Israel, and for exposing Iran’s deception and reforming the Palestinian Authority.
“Israel fights for civilization itself — for the right of every country to defend itself from terror,” she says. “Israel was born partly from the ashes of Europe’s Jews, and because of Europe’s betrayal — both by those who participated and by those who stayed silent. Supporting Israel is therefore self-evident. Since October 7, I’ve tried to raise my voice and shape public opinion. An Europe where Jews are not free is not a free Europe.”
