Hen Mazzig writes on his X account the tragic story of Sgt. More Shakuri, policewoman who died a hero!
Sgt. Mor Shakuri was a patrol officer on the Sderot police force. The 29-year-old woman was engaged to a fellow police officer and was looking forward to a June wedding.
On October 7th, when terrorists tried to take over the Sderot police station, Mor went to the roof of the building with a few others to fight back. When one of her companions was injured, she used her shirt as a tourniquet to stop their bleeding.
Eventually, the officers on the roof ran out of ammo and she texted her commander, but the battle was so intense inside the station that he could not bring them any ammo. She comforted him and told him to be brave.
Mor called her mother and said, “Mom, it’s important to me that you know that if I don’t survive, I love you, I love dad, take care of my sister."
She died on the roof that day, never able to live her dreams of marriage or motherhood. The people she fought alongside said she was a selfless woman whose loss was deeply felt.
NEWSRAEL: Mor's is just one of many tragic stories of people who when they were needed acted without fear, know that they had to stand up for their fellow men and women.
