An IDF soldier who lost his leg fighting in Gaza recounted how his mother told him his leg had been buried in accordance with Jewish law—to which he replied that he wanted it in his own grave so that when the resurrection comes at the end of days, he will be whole again.

Yonatan Benhamou, an IDF soldier gravely wounded in combat, recalls the moment that still defines him: waking up in the hospital, asking for his leg, and then making a powerful decision about the life ahead of him.
