Israel’s Defense Ministry has finalized a new strategic document led by Director-General Maj. Gen. Amir Baram and approved by Defense Minister Israel Katz. It sets out ten core goals, focusing on strengthening U.S. ties, boosting Israel’s defense exports, and securing the eastern border.
1. IDF needs
Full support for all IDF requirements: immediate wartime needs, readiness for a decade of intense security challenges, stockpiling supplies, preparing for multi-front wars, and developing next-generation weaponry.
2. Defense budget
Expansion of the defense budget to meet the IDF’s increased operational tempo.
3. Decision-making
Greater ministry involvement in strategic decision-making, including leveraging defense assets and diplomatic tools to support foreign policy.
