Zelensky: Putin is fighting for his life

Against the backdrop of Russia's and Ukraine's increasing losses in the war, which entered its second year months ago, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed his confidence in his country's victory.

He said in an interview with the Al-Arabiya network, today, Sunday, that Russian President Vladimir Putin will leave the lands of Ukraine defeated, just as the late Iraqi President Saddam Hussein was defeated in Iraq. And he thinks that Putin will not achieve the goal for which he came out with this aggression, and he will also lose the trust of his people.

He also thinks that the Russian president is "now fighting for his life in Ukraine, not for his country or the Russian people," as he claims.

As for the counterattack that was expected during the spring, he indicated that it would inevitably occur, but refused to give details. According to him, "the counterattack will take place and we believe in its success, but it is difficult to say anything now because we are still in the preparation phase and we are working to strengthen it."

He also clarified that the Ukrainian forces are not only preparing for this counterattack, but are also fighting at the same time on the lines of contact with the enemy," in his words, emphasizing that it is very difficult to carry out these two tasks at the same time.
