Israel has uncovered a trove of receipts and financial records detailing transfers of tens of millions of dollars from Iran to Hamas, spanning the past twenty years.
These documents were seized during military operations in the Gaza Strip and have been recently highlighted in a report by The Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center.
In conjunction with these findings, interrogations of Hamas militants captured during the conflict have provided Israel's Shin Bet (Security Agency) with further insights into this financial network.
According to the report, “Since 2014, Iran has been the primary strategic ally of Hamas, supplying military equipment, training, and financial support totaling hundreds of millions of dollars to both the movement’s leadership and its military wing. Prominent Hamas leaders have publicly acknowledged Iran’s role in supplying weapons that have facilitated attacks deep within Israeli territory.”
