"Israel awaits final offer from Egyptian mediator within a few days"
At a time when Egypt is working to achieve a truce between the Palestinian and Israeli sides, including a prisoner exchange deal and economic and political issues, the Israeli media reported on Wednesday that the chances of an agreement between Israel and Hamas have increased.
A senior Israeli political source said, according to reports on the Hebrew Ynet website, that the possibilities of ending a prisoner exchange deal with Hamas have become different from the past and explained that the likelihood of success has increased.
He noted that the deal would include the return of the bodies of two Israeli soldiers, Oron Shaul and Hadar Goldin, and the release of two other civilians, Avra Mangrasa and Hisham al-Sayed, who are being held by the movement in the Gaza Strip, and that Israel awaits the Egyptian mediator's final offer within days .
He also explained that Israel had conditioned the rehabilitation of Gaza on the completion of the POW deal.
Hamas is reported to be agreeable
These developments came after Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar, confirmed on Monday that there was a "good opportunity" to summarize the prisoner file between the two sides.
Asked by AFP about the imminent completion of a prisoner exchange deal, he said, "There is a real opportunity in this case, and we are ready for urgent and urgent indirect negotiations to complete the case," adding, "We have a good opportunity to move this issue."
It is worth noting that Hamas captured four Israelis, including two soldiers, who according to Israel were killed during the 2014 war, but the movement did not reveal details about their fate.
