Attempted assassination of senior Khamenei associate in Mashhad

Saeed Tosi, a prominent Quran reciter and close associate of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, was seriously wounded in an armed attack early this morning in Mashhad. The incident occurred in the Vakilabad area, where unidentified gunmen opened fire at him.

His brother, Abdul-Reza Tosi, confirmed the assassination attempt and said that Saeed remains in critical condition.

The attack has shocked religious and political circles in Iran, as Tosi was known for his close ties to the regime’s leadership.
