Here are details on the Lebanese army that is supposed to be deployed in the south.
To enforce the ceasefire agreement, 10,000 Lebanese army soldiers are supposed to be deployed in the south. The agreement essentially resurrects this army, since due to the economic situation in Lebanon, it relies on donations, mainly from Qatar, to survive.
The Lebanese Army includes 15 brigades, 12 of which are infantry, one mechanized, one logistical, and a Republican Guard brigade (its mission is to protect important figures). The army also has several other battalions of armor, artillery, and engineering works.
The Lebanese Army also has four special forces battalions, including airborne commandos and naval commandos.
