Ghadeh Ayoub, a member of Lebanon’s Christian Lebanese Forces party, is calling on Beirut not to adopt Hezbollah’s narrative in any future negotiations with Israel.
Speaking publicly, Ayoub argued that focusing negotiations solely on Israeli withdrawal demands and prisoner releases — as pushed by Hezbollah — will not produce the correct outcome for Lebanon.
According to Ayoub, official Lebanese negotiation documents should clearly state that the conflict is between Israel and Hezbollah, not between Israel and Lebanon as a whole.
Her comments reflect growing divisions inside Lebanon over Hezbollah’s role in dragging the country into repeated military confrontations with Israel and highlight increasing criticism from anti-Hezbollah Christian and anti-Iranian political factions.
