In June 2024, there were 552 road accidents with casualties classified by Israel’s Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) as an extended accident, of which 36 were fatal accidents and 148 accidents with serious injuries.
A total of 971 people were injured in these accidents, of whom 24 were killed and 179 were seriously injured.
In addition, in June 2024, 2,901 accidents were reported to the police, which were classified by the CBS as “general with minor casualties.” In these 3,626 people were slightly injured.
In contrast, in June 2023, 4,135 accidents were reported to the police in which 5,411 people were slightly injured – a decrease of 29.8% in the number of accidents and of 33% in the number of casualties.
