Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, chairman of the Senate Budget Committee, is expected to arrive in Beirut tomorrow alongside US envoys Morgan Ortagus and Gabriel Noriega Barak.
Their visit comes at a critical moment for Lebanon, which is under mounting international pressure to curb Hezbollah’s influence and address its worsening political and economic crisis.
The presence of Graham — a senior figure in Washington and a longtime supporter of Middle East normalization — may be intended to signal that American financial assistance is tied to progress on dismantling Hezbollah’s military infrastructure.
His involvement also highlights Washington’s continuing push to expand regional agreements and align Beirut more closely with US and allied interests.
