In recent weeks, the Saudi Arabian television network MBC has found itself at the center of a significant controversy, provoking widespread anger and backlash across the Arab world. In Iraq, violent demonstration were recorded at the network's offices.
The network, which is one of the largest media entities in the Middle East, has come under fire for its programming choices that go against the Arab narrative that Arabs can do no wrong.
One of the main triggers of this anger was MBC's classification of prominent Palestinian figures, including Yahya Sanwar, Ismail Haniya, and Salah Al-Arouri, as "terrorists" in a recent broadcast.
This characterization has incited outrage among many viewers who see it as a blatant attempt to delegitimize Palestinian leadership.
