The target of the attack seems to have been Ra'ad Saad, head of the operations department - No. 4 in the Hamas military hierarchy in the Gaza Strip.
Ra'ad Sa'ad managed to evade and escape from Shifa Hospital during an IDF operation that was there last March. Sa'ad was inside the hospital, and at the very beginning of the operation, he managed to escape from there before the IDF completely surrounded the hospital.
It is not yet know if Sa'id was killed in the attack.
