A picture has emerged from Rafah of a Hamas man armed with an American sniper rifle who was attempted to be disguised. Who gave such a special US rifle and why?
This photo of a Hamas man was taken in recent days in Rafah. It reveals a unique sniper rifle that at first glance looks like the familiar Dragunov SVD sniper rifle.
The Dragunov SVD, which Hamas has been using for many years for medium-range shooting and is manufactured and smuggled from a variety of countries (Iran, China, Russia, and more), but in reality it is an entirely different weapon that may be trying to hide a proactive and extensive state effort by a country with access to American weapons to support Hamas precisely now, at a time when its damaged sniper system is apparently in need of rapid rehabilitation.
The weapon in the picture is an American M14 sniper rifle that uses 7.62 millimeter NATO ammunition and is an effective and deadly sniper rifle found in large quantities among armies supported by the United States, but what is special about this specific weapon is the fact that someone (apparently with state-owned industrial production capabilities) took the trouble to externally disguise the weapon and give it an oriental appearance consistent with a Dragunov by engraving the wood of the stock and printing, and indeed at first glance and even at second glance the appearance is confusing and capable of misleading.
