After surviving captivity, where radio became a lifeline, Romi Gonen fulfilled her dream

In the darkest moments underground, inside the tunnels, Romi Gonen held onto a dream: one day, she would sit behind a radio microphone. Music and radio broadcasts became a source of strength and hope during captivity.

Today, that dream became reality. Together with Emily Damari — who survived captivity alongside her — Romi went on air at Galgalatz radio. Speaking openly, the two shared how songs and broadcasts helped them endure the hardest moments and hold onto hope when everything else felt lost.
