Former University of South Florida professor Sami Al-Arian, who was deported from the United States over links to terrorist organizations, claimed in a March 9, 2026 podcast that US President Donald Trump “has no idea” what he has gotten into regarding the war with Iran.
Speaking on a podcast hosted by Moscow-based American Communist Party co-founder Jackson Hinkle, Al-Arian alleged that Trump is being led into the conflict by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, either through “extortion or manipulation.” He further claimed that both Israel and the US will eventually “cry for the war to be over.”
In a separate March 10 appearance on another podcast, Al-Arian accused Israel of pursuing a so-called “Greater Israel” strategy aimed at breaking the Middle East into weaker states under its control. He claimed that Israel seeks to prevent regional development, portraying it as acting out of fear and expansionist ambitions.
Al-Arian also alleged that Israel will not stop with Iran and will expand its efforts toward Turkey and other countries. He called on the Muslim world to resist what he described as Israeli influence and strategy across the region.
