ASSASSINATION OR MURDER? A submarine commander of the Russian Navy shot and killed

Stanislav Rezhetsky, who was shot in Krasnodar, commanded a submarine of the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet. Russian news agency TASS cited law enforcement agencies as saying Monday that a gunman killed Stanislav Rezhetsky, deputy head of the recruitment department in the southern Russian city of Krasnodar.

The agency added that a criminal investigation file had been opened into the murder of Rezhetsky, who also commanded the Krasnodar submarine of the Russian Navy's Black Sea Fleet, which bears the same name as the city.

It is still unclear whether he was also the commander of the submarine in his current position or not.

The Russian Ministry of Defense said that the Krasnodar submarine is a diesel-electric submarine and is intended for use by the Black Sea Fleet "in combat against surface ships and submarines, laying mines and reconnaissance work."

It should be noted that this submarine was controlled numerous times in the port of Tartus in Syria and from there it also went on operational missions in the waters of the Mediterranean Sea.

Note: There is currently no clue as to the reasons for his murder. Was he murdered by government officials to silence him? Or was it one of the more vocal opponents of the invasion of Ukraine that embarrassed the government?

Or is this a "grill" murder case? Or is it a repeat of the "Red October" case?
