Spanish authorities have arrested more than 30 people suspected of deliberately starting fires, as the country battles massive wildfires that have forced thousands to evacuate their homes.
The blazes, which broke out in several regions in recent days, have destroyed large areas of forest and farmland, while firefighters continue to struggle against spreading flames fueled by high winds and dry conditions.
Officials said the arrests were part of an intensive investigation into the causes of the fires, which have put enormous strain on emergency services and displaced entire communities.
Spain, already facing one of its hottest summers in years, has declared multiple emergency zones as firefighting aircraft and crews from across the country work to contain the devastation.
