Today, we are again reminded of the heartbreaking descriptions of Josephus Flavius and return to the drainage ditch under the Pilgrims' Road where the last Jewish rebels crowded on the eve of the destruction of the house, hearing the converted cries from the street above: 

"Hiding in the burrows: they cracked the ground and killed everyone who came across it. Here, too, more than 2,000 people were found dead, some of whom killed themselves with their own hands."
