UK Police are scouring two north London homes linked to Keir Starmer after both suffered fire damage in a suspected arson attack - with a vehicle fire last Thursday also being probed
Two properties connected to Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer have been damaged in a suspected arson attack just hours apart - including his home in north London - sparking fears of a targeted campaign.
Both north London homes suffered fire damage to their doors in separate incidents within a 24-hour window, MailOnline reports. Tonight, Scotland Yard confirmed it is investigating possible links between the two blazes – and a third fire involving a vehicle last Thursday - in what could be an escalating arson attack aimed at the PM. Counter-terrorism police are investigating the blazes, which broke out in the early hours of this morning.
The door to the Prime Minister's property was damaged but nobody was hurt. The London Fire Brigade, which attended the property, managed to get the fire under control around 20 minutes after receiving a call at 1:30am. Mr Starmer thanked “the emergency services for their work”. Downing Street could not comment further due to a “live investigation”.
Residents were said to hear a “loud bang” during the night and woke to see flashing lights and sirens. The street has been cordoned off with police tape, while “lots of forensics” have been being taken throughout the day.
A next door neighbour, who didn’t want to be named, reportedly said he was woken up in the early hours of the morning to a loud bang. “It was a loud bang, what sounded like glass shattering. It was scary,” he said.
Another resident, 58, who also didn’t want to be named, reportedly said: “I got woken by a loud noise in the early hours of the morning. I looked out of the window and saw flashing lights and heard police sirens. There’s been lots of forensics outside all day. It seems like they’re taking it very seriously.”
