Czech police have arrested three suspects in connection with an arson attack on a drone production facility in Pardubice, with responsibility claimed by anti-Israel radicals.
One suspect was detained in neighboring Slovakia, while the other two were arrested inside Czechia. Among them is Youssef Moursi, an Egyptian-born US citizen studying in the country. The suspects now face between 20 years and life imprisonment on terrorism-related charges.
The attack has raised serious concerns due to the facility’s role in supplying drones to Ukraine, prompting some security experts to suggest possible Russian involvement. Meanwhile, a group of leftist activists gathered outside the Pardubice courthouse to show support for the detainees.
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš responded sharply, calling on defense companies to significantly upgrade security measures at their own expense. He stressed that it is unacceptable for critical infrastructure to be so easily breached.
