A well-known political activist in Syria, from the Alawite community, Bashar Barhoum, who originates from the Syrian coast, mocked the low salaries in the regime's areas, and that "those who live under the rule of the Israelis in the Golan areas of Syria are the people who profited greatly and not those who remained in the rest of Syria."
Barhoum said that those who live under Israeli rule, whether in the Golan Heights, Jerusalem and Gaza, are the people who live the best, and their minimum wage is no less than 400 to 600 US dollars, and wondered, "If we give someone the opportunity to return to the homeland to receive a monthly salary of 12 dollars, will he agree and come?".
Barhoum said: "If Israel had occupied the "Ein Shikak" area in Jablah in the countryside of Latakia, today the salary of the lowest citizen would be no less than 400 dollars."
He pointed out that those who live under the rule of the Israelis today enjoy a luxurious life, since they have electricity available around the clock, in addition to the availability of fuel of all kinds at any time."
Recently, Barhoum blamed the head of the Syrian regime, Bashar al-Assad, for the poor living conditions, power outages and inflation in Syria, and refused to place the responsibility on the government of the regime, which is usually attacked by supporters and loyalists of the regime, and even the official media associated with the regime, which is responsible for all Chaos in the country.
The areas under the control of the Syrian regime suffer from a large shortage of basic services, in addition to a significant increase in the prices of goods, fuel and electricity and a decrease in their availability, at the same time as a significant decrease in the exchange value of the Syrian currency and its weak purchasing value.
