Many conclusions and lessons will be drawn by the countries of the world including in the Middle East region from the war currently going on in Ukraine. What happens today will also affect future armament decisions. Here's an example.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that on Friday the Russian military first used hypersonic (hyper-sounding) missiles to destroy underground weapons depots in western Ukraine.
The missile called "Kinzhal" was first unveiled by Putin in 2018. It is considered the next generation of missiles and unlike hard-to-impossible ballistic missiles to existing air defense systems including those in Israel intercepted. Kinzel can also carry a nuclear warhead launched from an aircraft and reaches a speed of at least 5000 km/h, twice the advanced ballistic missiles used by Iran. Unlike ballistic missiles, the Hypersonic missile is not only extremely fast but has its own navigation capability, which does not allow its interception using today's defense systems.
It is currently known that Hypersonic missiles are in the possession of the US, China and Russia, but it is likely that following the war in Ukraine there will be more interested, both in acquiring them and in finding a defense system for them.
