A remotely manned aircraft explodes in southern Golan Heights, causing damage to building. Pro-Iranian militia claims responsibility.
The war in the north is escalating: A remotely manned aircraft exploded on Wednesday evening in the southern Golan Heights.
There were no injuries, but a building sustained damage.
The pro-Iranian militias in Iraq took responsibility for launching the aircraft, claiming they fired at a "vital target" in the area.
The militias also said that they used the "appropriate weapon".
Wednesday’s incident comes several days after the Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iranian-backed militias, claimed to have struck the Karish gas rig off Israel’s northern coast, describing the rig as a “vital target” in the Mediterranean Sea.
The claims by the militia came hours after the IDF announced it downed a drone over the sea near Lebanon as it approached Israeli airspace.
Since the start of the war against Hamas in Gaza, the pro-Iranian militias have launched dozens of attacks on bases in Iraq and Syria which host US troops.
The US has retaliated by striking Iranian-linked sites in both Iraq and Syria.
