NEW YORK – A leading pro-Israel organization has come out strongly in support of the recent statements made by Ambassador Tammy Bruce against the "double standards" targeting Israel at a UN Security Council Emergency Meeting.
Americans For A Safe Israel (AFSI) has called Ambassador Bruce's defense of Israel "necessary" and "honest."
The December 29 meeting was held in response to Israel's recognition of the Republic of Somaliland.
"Perversely, the UN has long viewed Israel as wrong no matter what it does," stated Moshe Phillips, Chairman of Americans For A Safe Israel. "Ambassador Tammy Bruce's decision to call out the hypocrisy and outrageous focus on criticizing Israel that happens at the UN year after year was a much-needed moment of honesty too rarely seen at the Security Council."
