After killing 50 terrorists in Nablus and Jenin, the patrol fighters went on to practice a scenario they had never faced in the IDF - fighting against Hezbollah's Raduan force that had invaded our territory.

Last month, the fighters of the Golani Patrol practiced one of the new scenarios that the IDF has never faced in real time - fighting for several hours against a Hezbollah force that will invade Israeli territory and try to temporarily occupy an open or inhabited area near the border. This is actually the opening blow of the Shia terrorist army to the next war, which will be led by elite forces from the Raduan unit.

The unitary exercise started directly from the routine of the busy operational activity in Judea and Samaria. The soldiers involved were not told that they were to take part in this exercise.

A sharp transition from the current security tasks to an unfamiliar scenario. In the first phase, the fighters had to locate Hezbollah terrorists who had crossed into Israeli territory and were stationed at a number of commanding points in the Galilee with raid and raid forces. The soldiers and officers faced an unusual event in its sensitivity - directing an air strike on Israeli territory, while distinguishing between comrade and enemy and forming a common language with all the forces.

After a day and a half of practicing blocking Barchanim deep into the country and destroying the enemy in Israeli territory, the soldiers of the patrol moved to the next stage - practicing rowing to control the space from the Lebanese territory and crossing the border to the north. The soldiers marched about 80 kilometers as part of the unit's exercise, a distance that resembled an arduous maneuver in combination with the modern NMR APCs.

"This is a difficult scenario to practice and execute, and depends a lot on the intelligence picture we will have," explained patrol officers. "We managed to locate 85% of the terrorists in the exercise, but 15% still surprised us. This is an achievement that we are now signing off on, but we need to make better use of our collection capabilities."

The squadrons of drones were given predetermined flight paths and helped the fighters to map exactly where the enemy was at ranges of 10-15 kilometers without endangering the fighters. These are large drones that know how to switch tasks between them for recharging, and thus stay quietly in the air for long hours.

Storm teams established in the unit for quick direction, within minutes, of fire from air force aircraft give impressive outputs in training. A decision will only be made if the infantry and armor fighters are deep in the enemy's territory," explained the commander of the Golani Patrol, Lt. Col. D. "The entire air force (aircraft of the Air Force - 17) will help us isolate the enemy, weaken and harass him."

Meanwhile in the field, the teams used a new version of the command and control system TZD (Digital Land Army). The system, which sits on tablets, makes it possible to know in real time the location of the Israeli forces - and those of the enemy. in radios, as before, and activating satellite communication.

The fighters arrived at the training after nine consecutive months of full and busy operational employment in northern Samaria. In the last year and a half, the fighters led the offensive activity of the IDF in Jenin and Nablus.
