Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea said the ongoing debate over whether Lebanon joins the “mechanism” with military or civilian representatives is irrelevant, emphasizing that the state’s true decision must be to dismantle all illegal armed groups in the country.
Geagea warned that without such action, every other discussion is “a waste of time.”
He added that only after disarming all non-state factions can Lebanon achieve a true state, ensure stability, remove Israel from Lebanese territory, restore the armistice agreement, and focus on reconstruction and economic recovery.
